About ibuprofensnsaid, a propionic acid derivative, analgesic and anti-inflammatory.smechanism of action of ibuprofensibuprofen has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic action. it acts by inhibiting prostaglandin (pgs) synthesis and their release at the site of injury. prostaglandins cause tenderness and amplify the action of other algesics. ibuprofen inhibits cyclo-oxygenase enzyme and antagonizes prostaglandin actions. it also inhibits platelet aggregation and prolongs bleeding time.sabout pseudoephedrinesalpha/beta adrenergic agonist, a phenethylamine derivative, a nasal decongestant.smechanism of action of pseudoephedrinesit is a nasal decongestant with alpha-2 agonistic action. it produces local vasoconstriction, reduces blood flow, and causes shrinkage of mucosa which provides relief of nasal congestion. it reduces oedema of the nasal mucosa, thus improving ventilation, drainage and nasal stuffiness.
