Myelo-scan

The purpose of the myelo-scan is to search for pathologies of the spinal canal. It combines the technique of myelography and tomodensitometric examination. The scanner allows direct visualization of the intervertebral discs. It allows to judge the dimensions of the spinal canal. With the contrast medium introduced into the subarachnoid space, he demonstrates the contours of the spinal cord and he can judge the presence of extramedullary-intradural lesions, cysts and meningoceles, lesions compressing the dural sac, etc. On axial sections, the nerve roots are clearly distinguished from the bony structures.
