Gastric bypass

The principle of gastric bypass aims to reduce the capacity of the stomach and decrease the absorption of food in the digestive tract. This intervention causes rapid uncontrollable weight loss, described as more comfortable by patients, with a higher operative risk, an irreversible nature and the need to take vitamins permanently. There are two types of bypass: the Y-shaped bypass and the Omega bypass incorrectly named Mini-bypass.
