About nabumetonensaid, arylalkanoic acid derivative, analgesic, anti-inflammatory.mechanism of action of nabumetonethe parent compound is a prodrug, which undergoes hepatic biotransformation to the active component, 6-methoxy-2-naphthylacetic acid (6mna), that is a potent inhibitor of prostaglandin synthesis, most likely through binding to the cox-1 and cox-2 receptors.its action is more potent on cox2. this results its antipyretic, analgesics and anti-inflammatory action.indications for nabumetone1. rheumatoid arthritis 2. osteoarthritis 3. inflammatory conditions 4. soft tissue injuries 5. migraine 6. gout
