About pheniramine maleatefirst generation histamineh1 antagonist ,alkylamine derivative, anti histamine.mechanism of action of pheniramine maleatethis alkyl amine derivative has peripheral h1 receptor antagonist action and compete with histamine for binding to the receptors present on bronchi, uterus etc. this inhibits the activation of receptors and corresponding allergic symptoms produced by it. centrally the drug also has some antimuscarinic activity.indications for pheniramine maleate1. eczema 2. dermatitis 3. urticaria 4. skin oedema 5. itching due to insect bites 6. photo-dermatitis 7. rhinitis 8. serum sickness 9. paresis during pregnancy 10. toxaemia and retention of placenta 11. motion sickness
