Tonometry

Tonometry is used to measure eye pressure. Indeed, a pressure exists within the eyeball. Intraocular pressure is provided by the vitreous body and controlled by the outflow of aqueous humor.
Tonometry is performed if glaucoma is suspected, which is a disease secondary to an increase in intraocular pressure. The eye pressure study can be performed with a forced air tonometer, an applanation tonometer or by bi-digital palpation.
